The City of Flagler Beach is inviting local businesses to show off their creativity in the 2026 Flagler Beach Business Scarecrow Contest, a fall tradition that turns storefronts into a community display.

Businesses are encouraged to build a scarecrow and set it up outside their location, where it can stay on display through early November. To be judged, a business must email a photo of its scarecrow, the name of the creation, the business address, and a contact name to comments@cityofflaglerbeach.com by Thursday, Oct. 30, 2026.

The city also encourages businesses to promote their scarecrows on social media and to tag @cityofflaglerbeach on Facebook.

Judging will take place Nov. 3 and Nov. 4 by a committee of community members, who will review entries across several categories. Prizes will be announced and awarded Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, during First Friday.

The city’s Parks Committee encourages businesses to take part in the contest and join in the community event.
