Release #: 2026 – 214

A Port St. Lucie man, who has been in the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility since June, is now facing 10 felony charges after a multi-agency investigation led to child sexual abuse material being found on his cell phone.

The case began in September 2025 when X Corp (formerly known as Twitter) flagged an account for sharing child sexual abuse material and reported it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The tip was sent to the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and detectives with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office identified the owner of the account as Brandon Irizarry, 29, of Port St. Lucie.

In September 2026, BSO detectives learned Irizarry was already in FCSO custody. FCSO deputies had arrested him on May 28 for unlawful exposure of sexual organs at a Taco Bell on State Road 100. He pleaded guilty on June 2 and was placed on probation. Deputies arrested Irizarry the next day for stealing from the Target on State Road 100, violating his probation. When he was rebooked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, his cell phone went into his inmate property, where it sat for the next three months.

After learning of Irizarry’s connection to the CyberTip. FCSO detectives worked with BSO detectives to obtain a search warrant for Irizarry’s device. FCSO detectives obtained a search warrant and seized the phone turning it over to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office which conducted a forensic examination of the device. Because the phone was last in his possession in Flagler County, the case was transferred to the FCSO.

On Irizarry’s device, detectives found multiple videos and images of children being sexually abused.

“We told you about this sick pervert back in May when he was caught masturbating outside of a Taco Bell,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “I commend our partners at NCMEC, SFICAC, and BSO for investigating the original tip and for following through on our collective mission to protect children from perverts like him. Every one of those files on his device is a real child who was sexually abused. This pervert needs to go to prison for a very long time!”

On Oct. 2, detectives arrested Irizarry at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on 10 counts of possession of sexual performance by a child. He is being held on a $150,000 bond.

The case remains under active investigation as detectives continue reviewing the contents of Irizarry’s phone. Additional charges are expected.
