During the Palm Coast City Council Business meeting on Tuesday, October 1st, Charles A. Gambaro, Jr. was officially voted in as the new City Councilman for District 4. The council made their decision with a vote of 3-1, with Councilmembers Ed Danko, Nick Klufas, and Mayor David Alfin voting in favor, and Councilmember Teresa Pontieri casting the sole dissenting vote. This appointment comes after the seat was left vacant by former Councilwoman Cathy Heighter.

Immediately following the vote, Gambaro was sworn in and took his seat among his fellow council members. After being welcomed, Gambaro addressed the meeting with an expression of gratitude and humility, emphasizing his commitment to serving the Palm Coast community. He thanked his supporters and acknowledged the critical role of community engagement over his recent campaign efforts, stating, “Over the past two months, I’ve had the opportunity to listen to the concerns of our citizens, community leaders, business leaders, and others.”

One of the key priorities Gambaro outlined in his initial remarks was the selection of a new city manager. He stressed that this was a pressing concern for the residents of Palm Coast and expressed his intention to be actively involved in the hiring process. Gambaro emphasized the need for a “strong, proven leader” who could follow the guidance of the council, mentor city staff, and help lead Palm Coast into the future.
