Following Hurricane Helene, the City states “they understand that many Palm Coast residents will be working to remove yard debris over the weekend.” The City of Palm Coast has assessed the debris levels throughout the community and, at this time, there are no plans to activate the Disaster Debris Removal contract. However, the City has coordinated with our Solid Waste Hauler, FCC Environmental, to ensure yard debris collection continues as usual.
FCC will collect up to 2 cubic yards of yard debris per residence. Residents are reminded that debris should follow City Ordinance requirements:
- Yard waste must be tied in a bundle, neatly stacked, placed in a can, or bagged.
- The material size should not exceed five feet in length or six inches in diameter.
- Cans or bags should weigh less than 50 pounds, with a total of 2 cubic yards per residence.
- Debris exceeding these sizes may be tagged by the hauler for non-compliance.
For reference, 2 cubic yards of debris can be visualized as a pile approximately 3 feet deep, 3 feet high, and 6 feet long.
Also, remember that contractors, like lawn services or tree trimmers, are required to haul away any waste they create, as required by City Ordinance.
