Flagler County officials are sharing notification received by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) that it will reconstruct the portion of the Varn Park driveway entrance that is within the FDOT right of way. The work is slated to begin September 17, and the park will remain open throughout the work.
“Concrete driveway reconstruction will take about two days to remove the old concrete and pour new concrete, plus an additional three days for curing,” said Community Outreach Specialist Debbie Cople, an in-house consultant for FDOT District 5. “Since the driveway serving Varn Park is for public use, it will be reconstructed one half at a time to allow access to motorists.”
The project is part of the FDOT project resurfacing State Road A1A from Osprey Drive to north of Mariners Drive in Flagler County. The purpose is to construct pedestrian improvements and resurface State Road A1A to extend the life of the roadway. Additional information is available on the project website: www.cflroads.com/project/439124-1.
Please note that the construction schedule may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
