Pup of the Month Slate Still Looking for Forever Home; Currently Fostered with SMART Animal Rescue

Meet Slate, he is currently a foster with S.M.A.R.T. animal rescue and has been chosen as the Pup of the Month. Slate was dumped by US-1 and I-95, and was terrified. Caroline Johnson, founder of SMART, was the one to coax him into the care of the foundation.

Slate has been with his foster family since May of 2023, and his foster family has worked diligently to overcome his fears of men. Slate is now good with men and women and is looking for a loving home that will help him overcome his anxiety from being dumped.  Slate is also great with other animals.

Slate’s story is one that we hear far too often. SMART rescues many dumped and abused dogs in Flagler County, and they are always needing foster families and families willing to adopt.
