Male on Probation Caught with Drugs Again After Resisting Arrest
On Saturday, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Lancewood Street and Walnut Avenue in Bunnell. While speaking to the driver, later identified as Oscar Banks, the deputy observed a baggie of marijuana on the passenger floorboard. While confirming the driver’s identity, it was determined that Banks was on felony drug offender probation for Possession of Marijuana Over 20 Grams.
Conditions of Banks’ probation prohibited him from possessing or using any drugs or alcohol. As Banks was being arrested, he attempted to flee from deputies by pulling away and then battering the deputy, who received minor injuries. Banks was placed under arrest for Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest with Violence, and Violation of Probation. Banks was transported to Advent Health and cleared by medical staff before being transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. He is being held on $20,000 bond.
Banks has previously been arrested for Possession of Marijuana Over 20 Grams and Resisting an Officer Without Violence.
