The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC), which makes recommendations to both the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners and the Palm Coast City Council, is seeking to fill three vacancies. Additionally, the committee is holding a public hearing on November 14 to vote on what its recommendations will be to the City Council and the Board of County Commissioners.

“The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee after having reviewed policies relating to land development code, building requirements, and site review and permitting procedures will be voting on its final report of recommendations at the public hearing,” said Flagler County Housing Program Manager Devrie Paradowski. “We would like to get more public involvement – citizens to make public comments – and to spark interest in these very important vacancies on this committee.”

This committee meets monthly to prepare for this report. It will elect its chair and vice chair in January 2024.

Those interested in filling the three vacancies must fit the following criteria:

  • Citizen engaged in affordable home building industry
  • Citizen representing labor in affordable home building industry
  • Citizen who serves a local planning agency pursuant to 163.3174 F.S.
  • Citizen who resides in unincorporated Flagler County or the City of Palm Coast
  • Citizen who represents employers

The public hearing will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, in Training Room B at the Emergency Services Building, 1769 E. Moody Boulevard, Building 3, Bunnell. If accommodations are needed for people with disabilities, contact the Flagler County Housing Services office at 386-586-2324 or housingservices@flaglercounty.gov at least 3 days prior to the meeting.

The report may be inspected at the Health and Human Services Building, Housing Services Division, located at 1000 Belle Terre Boulevard, Palm Coast, FL 32164. Those wishing to comment may do so in person at the public hearing or in writing to the Flagler County Housing Services Division.
