September 19th, 2023, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle regarding window tint.  The driver of the vehicle produced a driver’s license with a photo that did not look like the driver.

Later on, deputies were able to locate a Florida Identification Card that did belong to the driver, which identified her as Mareena Aviles from Palatka. Aviles was found to have an active warrant for Robbery with a Firearm and Grand Theft of a Firearm from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. Aviles is also a convicted Habitual Traffic Offender.

Aviles was arrested for her out of county warrant and Habitual Traffic Offender. She is being held on a $205,000 bond.

“She thought she could conceal her identity by changing her appearance and using someone else’s driver’s license, but her actions to conceal her real identity were a dead giveaway,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “If you are wanted, don’t come to Flagler County. We will give you a place to stay. Another fugitive is in the Green Roof Inn because of our deputy’s hard work.”
